Have you finished writing your novel, but can’t get an agent even though you’ve had great feedback from friends and family who have read it?
This is the situation that I found myself back in when I finished writing my first novel back in 2017. Now I have an amazing agent and have had two thrillers published by Orion in both hardback and paperback. Both have been on the shelves of Waterstones and supermarkets and have been optioned for television.
Friends and family mean well, but often don’t know what is required to get a submissions package into the best possible shape to attract an agent.
I will help you to identify where a manuscript needs tweaking to increase pace, how to make characters’ voices more distinct, how to fix plot holes and ensure where the novel is set pulls the reader into the story.
I can work with you to help you achieve your goals. As well as being a published author myself, I have mentored other writers who have then gone on to get agents and book deals.
I accept psychological suspense, psychological thrillers, crime, police procedural and women’s fiction (or any genre for proof-reading only). I’m unable to help with literary fiction, science fiction, romance, cosy crime, fantasy, or historical novels.
Submission package – £150
I will look at your agent query letter, your synopsis and opening three chapters up to 10,000 words and report back to you in writing. For an additional £50 I am happy to discuss my report and how to take things forward on a zoom call of up to 40 minutes
Part manuscript appraisal – £250
(Up to 30,000 words)
Full manuscript appraisal – £500
(Up to 90,000 words)
Proof reading only – £350
(Up to 90,000 words)
If you wish to discuss a mix of the services outline above, I can quote a bespoke cost on request.
Please send an initial query to email@example.com and we can discuss timings to fit your requirements. I look forward to working with you.
